4th Grade Engineers at Work! 🛠️🏕️
Our 4th graders have been diving into Hatchet by Gary Paulsen and learning all about survival skills—just like Brian had to build his lean-to shelter in the wild! To bring the story to life, they put their engineering and teamwork skills to the test by creating bunny-sized lean-to shelters for our furry friends.
Lots of creativity, problem-solving, and cooperation in action! Who knows? Maybe a little woodland creature will find a cozy new home!

Mrs. Lehman’s 6th graders took The Floor is Lava to the next level! They had to complete tasks while navigating the 'lava,' using teamwork, strategy, and a lot of creativity to stay off the ground. Learning + fun = the perfect combination! #EngagedLearning #TheFloorIsLava #TeamworkInAction

Before diving into the thrilling adventures of Peak and The Edge by Roland Smith, our sixth and seventh graders took on a real-life challenge—rock climbing! They tested their strength, perseverance, and problem-solving skills, just like the characters in the books. What a great way to connect literature with experience! Thanks Mrs. Lehman! #HandsOnLearning #RockClimbing #PeakAdventure

Congratulations to Ryker Denault for qualifying for state Math Counts! Last week, students from the county competed at UND in the Math Counts competition. Students could qualify either as a team or as individuals. Great work!

Congratulations to Elle Brueckner for being named as an honorable mention for academic all-state! One senior is nominated each year for academic all-state based on GPA, character, and participation in extra curriculars. Elle is an excellent student who is part of student council, national honor society, among other activities. Keep up the great work!

🟢🔷 Exploring Reflective Symmetry with Pattern Blocks! 🔶🔴
Our 4th graders put their creativity to the test with a hands-on reflective symmetry activity using pattern blocks! They designed and mirrored colorful patterns, discovering how symmetry works in a fun and engaging way. It was amazing to see their problem-solving skills in action as they built and adjusted their designs!
Learning math through hands-on activities makes all the difference! #ReflectiveSymmetry #PatternBlockFun #MathMadeFun #4thGradeMathematicians

4th Grade Geologists in Action!
Mrs. Erickson's 4th graders just wrapped up the Geology section of ND Studies with a hands-on Chocolate Chip Mining activity, simulating lignite coal mining at Falkirk Mines!
Students selected different "land" (cookies) and purchased "mining tools" to extract as much "coal" (chocolate chips) as possible. They quickly learned that better-quality land produced more coal—but at a higher cost!
After mining, they had to reclaim their land. The big question—did they make a profit or take a loss?
Great job, young geologists! Learning about ND’s natural resources has never been sweeter! #NDStudies #HandsOnLearning #FutureGeologists
