4th Grade Engineers at Work! 🛠️🏕️ Our 4th graders have been diving into Hatchet by Gary Paulsen and learning all about survival skills—just like Brian had to build his lean-to shelter in the wild! To bring the story to life, they put their engineering and teamwork skills to the test by creating bunny-sized lean-to shelters for our furry friends. Lots of creativity, problem-solving, and cooperation in action! Who knows? Maybe a little woodland creature will find a cozy new home! #FutureEngineers #HandsOnLearning #HatchetAdventures #STEMinAction

4th Grade Geologists in Action! Mrs. Erickson's 4th graders just wrapped up the Geology section of ND Studies with a hands-on Chocolate Chip Mining activity, simulating lignite coal mining at Falkirk Mines! Students selected different "land" (cookies) and purchased "mining tools" to extract as much "coal" (chocolate chips) as possible. They quickly learned that better-quality land produced more coal—but at a higher cost! After mining, they had to reclaim their land. The big question—did they make a profit or take a loss? Great job, young geologists! Learning about ND’s natural resources has never been sweeter! #NDStudies #HandsOnLearning #FutureGeologists
